Peridot is for August

Peridot is for August.
Peridot is a transparent green gemstone that belongs to the Olivine mineral family.
It has the distinction of being one of oldest gemstones used in jewellery. For centuries, Peridot was utilised as a protective talisman. It was believed to protect its wearer from evil spirits and terrors of the night.
The majority of peridot formed deep inside the Earth and brought up to the surface by volcanic eruptions. In extremely rare occasions it has been found in meteorites that have landed on Earth.
Peridot has a narrow colour scope that ranges from green-brow to green-yellowish; the ideal colour is a highly saturated pure green.
Due to its abundance in supply, one can find large high-quality Peridot gems at very competitive prices.
